What is UX Designer
UX Designer หรือ User Experience Designer ยังหาคำภาษาไทยลงไม่ได้อย่างสวยงาม หรือ แปลตามตัว อาจจะเรียกได้ว่า (User=ผู้ใช้งาน)+(Experience=ประสบการ์ณ์)+(Designer=นักออกแบบ) รวมแล้วควรจะเป็น “นักออกแบบประสบการ์ณ์ของผู้ใช้งาน” สินั่นยังไงก็แล้วแต่ที่ทุกวันนี้เป็นเรื่องราวกล่าวถึงนั้น เป็นเหตุเนื่องมาจาก ทิศทางการเติบโตเทคโนโลยีในปัจจุบัน โดยเฉพาะ Internet ที่มีผลทำให้สภาพสังคมเปลี่ยนไป รวมไปถึงการเกิดใหม่และกลายพันธ์ของสาขาอาชีพในช่วง 10-20 ปีมานี้ สืบเนื่องจาก Internet Revolution
จะเรียกไปแล้ว UX Designer ได้เกิดการกลายพันธ์จาก กลุ่ม นักออกแบบสื่อออนไลน์นั่นเอง (Web Designer, Digital Designer)สาเหตุหลักได้กล่าวไปด้านบนแล้ว และผลที่ตามมาอีกข้อคือ เมื่อ Internet มีอยู่แพร่หลายทั่วไป และคนเสพสื่อออนไลน์เป็นชีวิตประจำวัน ทำให้ พฤติกรรมผู้บริโภคนั้น ไม่เหมือนเดิมอีกต่อไป สมมุติ จากที่เคยใช้ internet วันละ 1 ชั่วโมง มาเป็น 8 ชั่วโมงต่อวัน จึงเกิดสิ่งที่ตามมาคือ “ความคาดหวังที่มากกว่าเดิม” ซึ่งเป็นความต้องการทั่วไปตามธรรมชาติ เหมือนจากเคยดูทีวีขาวดำ มาปัจจุบันดู สี จอแบน สามมิติ เรียกว่าเกิด วิวัฒนาทางประสบการ์ณ
ดังนั้น เมื่อUserเสพสื่ออนไลน์ มีความคาดหวังเพิ่มขึ้น จนผู้ผลิตต้องค่อยๆเพิ่มในสิ่งที่เขาคาดหวัง เช่นสวยขึ้น ตอบสนองเร็วขึ้น ง่ายขึ้น เข้าใจมากขึ้น เดาผู้ใช้ได้ดีขึ้น และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย
ด้วยประการดังนี้ ทำให้ผู้ออกแบบ ต้องพัฒนาความถนัด ไปคาบเกี่ยววิชาความรู้รอบด้าน โดยเฉพาะ พฤติกรรมผู้บริโภค ต้องคอยสังเกต เรียนรู้ ลองผิดลองถูก ค้นพบสิ่งใหม่เพื่อนำมาใช้กับงานออกแบบ เพื่อจุดประสงค์เดียวคือคำว่า “ประสิทธิภาพประสบการ์ณที่ดีขึ้น”
ดังนั้น คำจำกัดความ รวมๆ ของ UX Designer อาจจะมาด้วยประการฉะนี้ จึงเรียกง่ายๆได้ว่า เขาเป็น Designer พันธ์ใหม่สำหรับ พ.ศ.นี้นั่นเอง และ มีองค์ความรู้ที่สามารถ สื่อสาร และเข้าใจกระบวนการของ สายงานที่เกี่ยวข้องได้ นั่นคือ Information Architect, Graphic Designer รวมไปถึง Usability Annalist อีกด้วย
มีวีดีโอสองชุด เล่าเรื่อง และสถานะปัจจุบันของ UX Designer ได้น่ารักดี มีมุกตลกๆสร้างสรรค์ให้ได้ยิ้มเล่น เช่น เรื่องที่ว่า คนทั่วไปอาจจะงง ว่า UX Designer มาจากไหน เขาซ่อนตัวในความมืด บ้างเชื่อว่ามาจากนอกโลก จากดาวที่ชื่อ Devign (Divine + Design) แต่ผลการศึกษาปัจจุบัน บอกว่าเขาเหล่านั้นก็มาจากที่ต่างๆกันบนผืนโลกนี่หละ พวกเค้าหมกมุ่นกับคอนเซปการเปลี่ยนโลก ทีละจอนะจ๊ะ (One screen at a time)

What Designer has the most deliberate, the most complex, the beautiful job in the world?
It’s the User Experience Designer.
The very special specie indeed. He looks at the world with the fresh pair of eyes, creating experiences and social interactions that brings orders in the world of chaos. He often gets mistaken with the experienced decorator, complicator or impersonator. But a real UX Designer, it must more than just that, he loves charts personas more than random tables and buttons he chooses sticky notes and prototypes, overflow charts and pretty pictures bringing experience-centric-nology together creating software with a soul.
According to the popular believes, the UX Designer hidden in the dark for years learning and observing, other implies that he comes from outer space, probably a planet named ‘DEVIGN’. But recent study shows that he comes from all over the place, and get together with other designers to share stories about monsters, ambitions and ice skating uphill. He is truly obsessed with changing the world, “one screen at a time”.

“With Great UX Design comes Great Responsibility”
As technology has become omnipresent user has changed into a creator with high expectations. He wants experiences and he wants them now, real time, intuitive and social.
This make the jobs of UX designer more difficult but also more interesting.
Looking beyond solving problems, thinking about how to make things better, He carefully examines where that customer discussion takes place and engages in the discussion. He can buy Information Architect, Graphic Design, Information Design to manage the customer experience, across platforms and between devices.
They are truly the unsung heroes of design, shaping the future with innovation. An user experience design, visible to some invisible to many.
